Artist's Comments

Noticed this post and knew it would be easy to duplicate the effect in a couple of minutes using masks and the blur filter in Flash so I whipped this up just for fun :slow:

You can view the Flash here.

Photos are mine of our trip to Disney World on 11/07

The photo is 1450X300 but the ending swf is still only 122kb which isn't too bad.

Zip has all the files and fla is saved in Flash 8 format.

Comments are always appreciated

Wow! That's a really cool effect! I didn't know Flash can be used to edit images :)

Thanks :D Funny how the simplest effects are sometimes the coolest. Plus it gave me an excuse to show off my little angel again.
:icontecwzrd:
Thanks :D

Flash 8 and CS3 have filters built in that can blur, adjust color, brightness, contrast, and tint but not much else.

Still it's better then the old way of having to use multiple photos edited with blur/color/ect... in PS. You can create some cool effects without increasing the file size

That is really cool man. I like the effect. I think the photos are going a little too fast though. The vacation looks fun! haha!
:icontecwzrd:
Ya, it's a bit too fast but if you increase the frames in the movie clip too much (which shortens the motion) you get a more jerky motion. This effect is best done with a photo that isn't as high, about 100-150 pixels high is optimal for smoother scrolling.

And she very much deserves showing off! :D
